I understand not wanting inhabitation of your country by an outside force, or even takeing actions against the outside force. But how in the hell do the Iraqi people justify or even rationalize blowing up their own countrymen in horrible bombings and terrorists attacks.? You hear it every day in the news, 125 Iraqi civillians killed in an explosion, 45 Iraqi's the next day. Mabey i dont understand their religion or motivations clearly enough. Why blow up your own country?

Because the ones who are "working with" the US are considered to be traitors to their own country. Add to that centuries old hatreds between the different Islamic sects and you have a literal and figurative time bomb. Even if our troops were not there, the bombings would continue until one group managed to subdue the others.

Because the groups these scuicidal idiots are in are driven by mad men who have no care or concern over anything besides themselves. They manipulate religion of those who belive it the strongest to create zealots to randomly kill those who disagree. They're simple minded, controling and selfish, you know: assholes.

i think it is "If i cant have it to myself, no one can have it. period" kind of mentality.
that and suicide bombers are praised almost as gods once they are dead.

Most of the people in Iraq are Shi'ite Muslims. The Shi'ite majority was oppressed by Saddam throughout his reign. Saddam is a Sunni Muslim and all those in his government were as well. They tormented the Shi'ites (as well as the Kurds) mercilessly. Zarqawi (sp.?) is a Sunni also and he is leading the terrorist forces in Iraq.

His goal is to continue to foment discontent between the various religious and ethnic groups, the final result being all out civil war. To him, only other Sunni's are "his people". Shi'ites and Kurds don't count, so blowing them up doesn't bother him or his followers at all. He believes that if he can be successful in creating a chaotic enviroment, that US forces will be forced to leave the country.
